What is PBIS?
"PBIS is an organizing framework for schools to determine how they want to operate as a community - that is, what type of learning environment they want to create and what that means in terms of student behavior." - Baker & Ryan, The PBIS Team Handbook

PBIS is a clear set of practices that are embedded in a three-tiered support system for students that:
-Creating common expectations for the entire building, not individual classrooms or teachers
-Explicit teaching of expectations in multiple settings
-Monitoring of student expectations and providing supports when those expectations are not met
-Recognizing students using the expected behaviors through celebrations and acknowledgments (Leadership Slips, Assemblies, High Five Notes, Good News Call, etc.).
-Providing evidence-based behavioral interventions that are used consistently throughout building

Building Matrix -
The building matrix is our school wide expectations for all.  The matrix helps provide consistency throughout all school settings and classrooms.   Our matrix is visible throughout the building in many settings.
